Send in the Clowns

20130704-000013.jpg
I can’t help but think that dozens of clowns will come racing out of this truck when they lift the back up. I did not underestimate the creepiness of this vehicle.

Once again, poor Gary was urged to ‘catch up to that truck’ so I could get this shot. This is usually when he weighs in on whether it is funny or not.

A focus group of one.

When he decides what I am after is not funny enough I respond with, “fine, get your own damn blog.”

And he still makes sure I get the shot.

The man is a saint.

Kangaroo Men

On the road yesterday we saw this van that made me laugh. I kept trying to think about how funny it would be if the guys that worked for them were dressed up in kangaroo costumes. I tried to think about what these costumes would look like and did a quick image search on ‘kangaroo men’.

Wouldn’t you know I found the perfect shot. I can’t tell if these are the same guy photoshopped together or triplets in kangaroo costumes which is funny on so many levels.

You do lose a little something without the pouch but I guess that would just be for kangaroo women. Yeh, I know, it is amazing what I will do to waste time.

Anyway, shout out to Kangaroo Men Movers for entertaining me on an otherwise quiet drive. Love the tagline: We Hop to It.

And of course to Gary for slowing down so I could take the shot. Hey Jana, you did not think that the van was that funny. What do you say now?

I Heart New York

Once again, the universe dropped a big helping of ridiculous on my plate. I could not believe my good fortune that this couple should cross my path just as I was taking the first draw off a really kick ass smoothie from Joni’s. I live for these smoothies and only wish that Joni would open a place closer than the 2.5 hour drive to Montauk (on a good day).

So these two? Did they wake up in the morning and say, “Hey, let’s wear our I Heart NY t-shirts to the beach”? Or was it a coincidence? I think not.

Way to work as hard as you can to look like a tourist.

I give these two the What the Hell Were you thinking award this week.

Pet Toilets

This one comes from my dear friend Dani. She posted it on facebook and I knew she had me in mind. This is at South of the Border (where else?). I wonder if it is just an open field or if they have set up something cute with dividers. You know, to give the furry little creatures some privacy.

I have always been amused by the JFK Airport Pet Relief Area sign. I googled it and found this picture. You have to love the fire hydrant in the middle. To make them feel less self conscious and more at home, I suppose.

FYI, Philadelphia has 7 pet relief areas at their airport. So I am guessing that when you fly through there you best be carrying a second pair of shoes, just in case.

I know what you are thinking. Only I could write a whole post about pet toileting. Yeh well, it amuses me, what can I say?

Bumper to Bumper Stickers

Wow, can you imagine spending the evening with this person? I had a headache just standing next to his car.

Of course my favorite one is:

‘I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe’

I am not sure there is anything else I can say to top that.

Bogus Hill

Like This!

Once again, Joyce is bird-dogging great shots for me. My motto: if you can’t get out of the basement, make sure that your friends can. And remind them to carry a camera.

This is half the stone entrance for Bogus Hill. We love this name. What happens up there?

Nothing real, we are certain.

No, this is not my truck

But whoever was driving it is surely a kindred spirit. A big thank you to Gary for taking this picture for me. If you did not read last week’s post about my experience on the Cross Bronx Expressway you cannot fully appreciate why this is so funny.

Although on it’s own it is pretty damn funny.

I particularly like the steaming illustration. My brother should love this!

Hmmm, I wonder where I can buy this bumper sticker. It would make such a lovely gift. Silly me, all you have to do is google it… if you are interested, you can buy it here.

Wait you guys, I don’t want to wake up and come outside to find this on my bumper, ok? Just want to make that clear.
