Mannequin Love

I will never be bored. I will surely never be bored as a passenger in city traffic. On a ride with friends the other day we got stuck in some traffic and our driver was bordering on a full blown anxiety attack getting a little cranky about our gridlocked situation. I took the opportunity to start taking pictures that would amuse her.

Our other passenger was fairly convinced that we must have been stopped near a methadone clinic by the looks of the parade of people that passed by our windshield. Quite disturbing.

I loved this window. It was up on the second or third floor so it was hard to get a clear shot. But you can almost see the romance and heat between these two.

I know, now you all want to take me on a road trip.

Department Store Buddies

headless_conversation

Walking through Bloomies today I came upon this scene. Just at the moment I was walking past these two, it appeared as if they were deep in conversation. That was until I realized that the guy in the black suit with the white bucks had no head!

It really looked like cane man was palling around with these dummies. Do you think he realized that his friend was headless? Or perhaps this guys wife is constantly chewing his ear off and he finally found someone who would listen to him.

For those who know me, I am not from the shoppers. In fact, I loathe it. I get mall head and I feel all spacey and claustrophobic when I shop. I found the camera helps keep me amused.

Here is another shot that cracked me up.

men love to shop

This was taken at DSW, a discount shoe warehouse. What the hell did this guy do that he had to make it up to his wife by going shoe shopping with her? And really, what kind of woman wants her guy with her for this activity. Hey, get some girlfriends, will you?

One of these days I am going to get arrested (or punched in the face) for taking pictures all the time. But it is a wonderful way to stay amused.

Someone at Penn State Loves Me

penn_state

Ah, college touring. What parent does not love the idea of a few days of quality time alone with their kid? The kid, not so much. But this guy is a good sport. Like his sister before him, he humors my crazy ass with my binders, schedules and printed out directions and sits back for the ride trying his best to soak in the experience.

Being that this is the second time around I have found the best defense for boredom is to keep them laughing and to point out the absurd whenever possible.

This crazy blue haired beauty was in the window of one of the best college town shops I have seen in a long time, Peoples Nation, State College, PA. (you can look forward to many a blog post surrounding pictures I took in here). I particularly like the choice of shirt on this maniac-quin. This image is what freshman parents’ nightmares are made from.

I will be posting about the full college  touring experience over at 50-something mom blog soon. I will let you know when that is up.

For know, i could cry will be featuring the best of what makes my family laugh. Welcome to our world.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all!

Next stop, Maryland.
