I had a cab driver once who claimed that aliens were monitoring our activity via the arm rests in the car. Now, THAT made for an interesting ride. Gotta hand it to the guy; at least he’s being creative.
For that short story I’d definitely drop in a few coins and a dollar bill or two. I’ve been hit up for cash from homeless people many times and, even though I always give them some money and a few cigarettes, I always appreciate the ones who put some thought into their 98% fictionalized tales of woe and will give them more $, like this dude here.
