I Shlep

This could be my favorite license plate of the year. For those who are not of the tribe, or don’t live amongst the tribe, to shlep is to carry clumsily or with difficulty. But an alternate definition is ‘an arduous journey’.

Arduous indeed. If those window decals are for real I would say there was a hell of an arduous journey to get all those offspring through those institutions of higher learning. If you can’t read them in the photo they include: UPenn, Wharton, Cornell, Columbia University Law School, Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Harvard Law School… all on a 25-year-old station wagon!

It could also be very possible that this person just bought all these decals with no affiliation whatsoever to these schools.

But somehow I think not.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen that station wagon! Clearly all that s(c)hlepping paid off. Those are some impressive stickers she’s got on her car. (It positively screams, “My son, the doctor…. who’s too cheap to buy his poor old mother, who schlepped him and his siblings for years back and forth, back and forth, for years, with nary a complaint, a nice car.”)

Hmm, wonder if she was before her time and downloaded the ischlepp app?

Holy guacamole! Methinks there’s a reason they’re still rolling in that 25-year-old station wagon. πŸ™‚

as alluded to already…..there is a “C” in schlep!! clearly not from the tribe….even if they did go to all those schools. and ……i’m sure you saw this license plate before…or perhaps it was another schlepping one……

Btw, I totally thought of you, Amy, when I saw “69TOPLES” (I hope he was referring to his car) and “H8 H8TERS,” which led to some existential angst.
