I have thought about this a lot and have come up with a statistic that has no scientific basis, I have done no focus groups, I am citing absolutely no studies, but I am sure it is so. (oh, and Dr. Jimmy agrees, if that helps)
Anyone who speaks English with an accent immediately becomes 40% better looking.

J. is very observant…..British and French are 40% better looking…Brooklyn, Yiddish(Oy!), Longuyland(Port Wash especially) might be a minus…………

Dialects are not accents (LI, Brooklyn and the dreaded offender to intelligence, Southern)
Now that we analyzing, German… not so much. Asian languages, probably not.

I would have agreed with you a couple of years ago about British accents, but with so many Brits on the air now, I’ve gotten used to it. Sometimes I don’t know if I’m watching ABC or the BBC.
Spanish accents are different though. For instance, I think that Sofia Vergara of Modern Family is at least 80% more attractive. It’s got to be the accent.

Everyone has an accent of some kind. You only notice an accent when it’s different from your own.
